Announcing our 2026 Grand Marshal
Alisha Porter

Alisha was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June 2024. She spent months going through chemotherapy, bone marrow shots, and eventually a whole hysterectomy. Her young adult son moved back home to help care for her and his two teenage siblings.
In June 2025, Alisha was told her cancer had returned. Alisha was working full-time and planning ahead for activities with her kids including camping and fishing. Her dreams include living in the country where she could hunt and fish and tend a garden. She is now only able to work part-time in an automotive customer service position. The role is taxing as she, like so many, has first hand experience with chemo-brain being a real thing.
Both Seeds of Hope and the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation were able to help with rent, gas, and groceries. Alisha and her family will take home 50% of the proceeds raised at our raffle. We are grateful she has agreed to lead the 2026 Torch Run as our Grand Marshal.
